OK, so I got a used ECM from a guy on here and it worked great for about 4 months, now it died just like my first one, bad capacitors (Not the sellers fault, he was great and no way he could have known).

Same problem as well, just all of a sudden it wont start, spark or pop at all. Was runing fine when I drove it to a store, then when I came out, nothing.

So I was going to send in the old ECU to AVPRO, but found one for $261 at the local parts place. Cardone part number 72-6155. I have tried two of them from the parts store and both will start the vehicle, but it pops and surges real bad, almost as if the fuel is trimmed down then turned back on. So is this the wrong part or what? Also the case looks completely different, do these people who "reman" these ecu's actually know anything <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> or is it just a generic ECU that they never really have installed on a Montero to see if it works, its just in "spec".?

Thanks
Randy
