Getting the Wheeling Fever
I found this 1995 Montero SR 6 days ago completely stock. The next day I ordered body lift, tires and wheels.

Yesterday my gramps (80 yrs old) and I started the transformation. In 5 hours:

Replaced Alternator (was over charging)
Oil Change
Running Boards Removed
Removed Bumpers (need to modify to match body lift - any advice?)
2" Body Lift Installed

[Linked Image]

I took it to America's Tires afterward and they installed:

15 x 8" Steel Wheels
35 x 12.5" BFG KM2 (including spare)

Next up is 2.5" Suspension lift (custom springs & torsion bar). I need to get the bumpers modified. Any tips for the front bumper?

The tires barely fit; it's drivable on road but I'm going to need to do some trimming.

It only took them 2 days to get the wheels & tires. America's Tire is great. I've been very happy with them

Wow... before modifications, our trucks could have been twins.

Of course I went a different route with 33's an no need for a body lift so I can still fit in my garage.

Any tips for the front bumper?

The stock front bumper can be raised to match your body lift - you'll just need to find someone to fabricate some spacers. JohnnyBfromPeoria had this done on his 95 SR and it looks great.

This next week: stock bumpers to be installed, front torsion lift (~2"), alignment and fender trimming.

I'd love to get custom bumpers. Just need to find someone who has skillz. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
