Soon after WWII, aerospace was the driving force that brought people to California.

The past 60 years have seen the rise of the dysfunctional state legislature and the demise of an economy in the Golden State.

Aerospace went to Kali for the sunshine and warm climate (a lot of work on the planes during ww2 got done outside because of the lack of roofed space), and left because of the dimwits and cold shoulders...

Y'all send that stuff to GA. We had a bomber plant here...

Kali was a happenin' place during the War. My MIA uncle trained at Hamilton Air Field before deploying to the South Pacific and his fate. My aunt received several letters from him while there. Told her he got issued some warm weather clothing; his way of telling her which way he was getting sent with the OA-10 Catalinas.

Mare Island was also a refit depot for the Navy; submarines and ships alike. My other uncle got off the sub there after his stint in Dutch Harbor, and got onto the USS Wadleigh after it was almost blown in half by a mine and towed home.

Sad thing is that this is indicative of the broader state of U.S. manufacturing capability.

From aerospace to shipyards, the U.S. manufacturing capability is being dismantled. The U.S. base of raw materials is being locked into wilderness areas.

If the wealth of a nation is determined by the products manufactured, U.S. is bankrupt...

Relax Micheal, it seems like it was a joke to me. Granted it sounds a bit prickish coming from someone out of country, but ohwell. At least our internet isn't fed through a Gov nanny filter.

Body Damage is Cool
Aerospace definitly is moving out of the Country. I work as an aerospace machinists making jet engine parts. ** recently bought our operation (****** Aerospace). Now, our plant in Pa is doing all the engineering, planning, and troubleshooting for newer parts, and then the technology gets sent to either the plant in China, or the one in Poland. They even make our engineers go over there for a month to get things going (they do have a choice about going though, either go, or get fired). Truthfully, I fear for the future of much of the manufacturing in our Country, not just the aerospace divisions. But, things in my line of work are getting worse and worse.

I hid the names of the companies, I don't want anything bad coming back at me from a major corporation.

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.
