The system used is ECUFlash. You need to know what you want to do and how to do it if you are going this way. There are no magical gains like you see advertised. The tuning is done to optimize the ECU for changes you have made to the engine and systems that are beyond the broad learn range of the stock ECU.

If you want a little more power you need to make the existing systems more efficient. This would involve changing the exhaust manifolds to some with a much more even flow and then optimizing the rest of the exhaust as needed. The next step would be to work with the induction system and head porting for the improvements there. All of this work does not require any changes to the ECU.

First, find a guy wearing a tall pointy hat and long robes with stars (the sky kind) and crescent moons printed on them, and talk him out of that funny little stick he's holding... the further West you go, the more of these guys you see, which is why California was the home of the hot rod...

Heck, you don't need to go to that much trouble...... just put a big coffee can on the end of the exhaust pipe, get some SplitFire spark plugs and dump a can of octane booster in the tank...... easy 50hp. I met him, he owns the "Tuner shop" that works on Hondas. For $15K he can give you 15 more horses but it sure is pretty under the hood. And for more money he will Cryo treat the aluminum block too or even sell you a can of Cryo treatment to spray on the tires so they last longer.

Years ago he used to sell chips for cars that made black smoke out the tail pipe everytime you drove it.
