I'm interested in a Gen 1 set and a Gen 2 set providing shipping isn't going to be a killer (cost more than the item itself). Looks like we have a decent amount of interest. I have a few updates from the guy at Sway Away. The deal he has for me is on part #1737 which on the website (http://www.swayaway.com/VehicleMake_3.php#TORSIONMITSUBISHI) will work for all Monty's from the year 1990-2000. Some of you have made the valid point that aftermarket parts have been wrong about this at times. Here is why I have doubts. Was there that much change between the 1988-89 LWB that would change the size/length of the torsion bar? Does that include SWB and LWB from from 1990?

The rep didn't seem to have these answers. All he could tell me was that the special prices are for p/n 1737 which are 27.5mm diameter and 51 7/16" long. If you do find out that your rig takes the 26mm diameter 50 1/2" length, I'll have to ask him if he'll extend the pricing to those as well since they started at $330 which is $110 higher than p/n 1737. As soon as we can find the answers to the questions above I am sure I'll have a better idea of exactly how many people are interested and then we can go about making an order.

By the way, has anyone gone about this before? The rep seems to be eager just to move these out and wants one lump payment for the total order so I'll have to cross that bridge when we get there.

Any answers to the tech questions above would be much appreciated.

I'm planning on getting a set of these. Now, if I wanted to match these with 1-2" lift or higher spring rate rear coils, are there any options out there? I remember I used a company called Valley Spring Works to buy some 2" lift rear coils on my Gen1 - is there anyone that offers something similar (1-2" lift or higher spring rate) rear coils for the Gen2's??? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I would be in for a set based on two conditions. First, does anyone know how the spring rate/load carrying capacity of these bars will compare to the stock ones and/or the OME bars that are often recommended for trucks with heavy bumpers or winches? Second of course, I am getting shockingly poor at a disturbingly fast rate lately, so of course final price matters. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

As far as the payment if the guy is wanting a lump payment It might be easier to set up a paypal or something like that for each person to deposit into and take that sum to him. it probably be a good idea to get box size of these things to work out shipping quotes. thanks for the leg work.
