According to the part numbers you listed, they're the same in '91 as the earlier trucks.

For our purpose, I don't think there would be enough spring rate difference to worry about in the front on any Gen1 - SWB or LWB. Even if the later LWB models have a slightly stiffer bar than the SWB, it shouldn't matter and if anything, might be a better choice for any '89 SWB - particularly if it has larger tires and/or a heavier bumper or winch.

The mounting receivers for the bar ends might be different and the length may be different, but maybe it's possible to overcome that - if needed.

Justice might be correct that the differentiation in length could be the coil vs. leaf spring rear setup - or it could be that the '92 year was the changeover. I'm interested in what he finds on the '89/'91 comparison. Then. the question might be how to modify the rear bar mounts and perhaps the front bar receivers to use the Gen2 bars in a Gen1.
