Inline engines are often heavier than similar displacement V engines. I wouldn't think there would be a lot of difference between the weight of the 2.6L and 3.0L, but the engine weight may be carried a little further foward in the 2.6L. However, the specs show the curb weight of the 2.6L to be lighter overall than the 3.0L.
The FSM agrees with Dave in that the bar diameter is more for the 2.6L, but it gives the spring specs in different measurements:
2.6L = Spring constant (wheel position when body set) - 123 lbs/in
3.0L = Torsion spring constant - 25.03 ft.lbs/degree

So, how would one convert those different measurements to something that could be compared side-by-side?

Damfino - maybe Kevin has an engineering book that can provide some insight in the relationship of those 2 disparate measurements.

I just looked on datapro and they list the same part number for the 2.6 and the 3.0 LWB. You can't trust part numbers you get on AllDataPro. I'm guessing the 3.0 # I listed above is for my SWB 3.0. The part numbers on my sheets list the anchor at adjuster and anchor at lower A -arm as the same part number for V6 and 4 cly, so yes the 2.6 bars should work for the 3.0. Now if we could just find a deal on some SWB T-bars.
