Body Damage is Cool
I check in from time to time, rarely. I don't check in regularly any more, life has been real busy lately and I got tired of waiting for lockers to become available. I got my hopes up too many times

Still a great vehicle though, no plans to get rid of it, probably gonna drive it 'till the wheels fall off...

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm still around too. Been mostly focusing on the wifes TJ, just got it 4" higher on 33's with bumpers. Did take a wheeling trip with the sportage up to CO and tore up the mountains. Broke the auto hubs finally, so the Manual Warns went on last week. Just waiting on funding to start with the front and rear bumpers for the Kia. (gotta buy a better welder, the 110 mig doesn't like any metal thicker than 1/8" )

Yep yep. So Fred and I are going trailing this sunday. My girl, Wendy, is gonna come too, which will be nice. Last Sundays Trail Video's are up, but unfortunately the vids were only of Fred's 92 jimmy taken from my driver's seat. He's got vids of my Kia on his camera too taken from his driver seat, but he still has to post them.. GRR!! But you can see where we were at the least. If you want to check the vids out just search youtube for "Panicmech" and the video titles are named "Trailing Jimmy". As SOON as I get the vids of my Sportage from Fred, there shall be links. I climbed some steep land on the side of the road that I never thought possible. These tires stick like sick!

Short Trailing Vid
Fred has 'my' videos. This is the 1st vid he's got online so far. There should be a couple more good shots he got of my Sportage, but he'll probably upload like one a day since it is kind of a slow process. I had to baby it on the bumps and twists cause I'm rubbing fender, etc. Anyway, Enjoy.

Hey guys. It's been a while. Probably over a year and a half since I was last on. Been working way to much and not spending any time on the Sportage. I actually haven't taken it wheeling in about that same amount of time. I've been spending any available wrenching time on another project that isn't making as much head way as I'd like it to either because wrenching time is very few and far between.

The Sportage is running like crap these days and I need to give it some serious TLC. It needs a new radiator, water pump, coils, plugs, skid plates, and now another tail pipe.

I took my factory fuel skid plate off when my fuel tank rusted through and haven't replaced it yet. I was going to either replace it with a factory one, or fab one. Then fab one to replace the front skid plate, but other things have got in the way.

The coils and plugs are on the list first and then the radiator and water pump. It needs to run well enough to take wheeling before I turn my focus back to the skid plating.

I'll try to check in more often even if work keeps going like it has.

Hey logan, mentioned your water pump needs replaced. You doing your water pump involves your timing belt removal. Might as well do it if it's near due. Think the interval is 65-70k mi. something like that. But it's not a real big deal since the engine's a non-interference. You COULD let it go till she snaps. Honestly, i did that on my OE belt till 100k mi. when it snapped. Should do the radiator and water pump at the same time. The work overlaps to do the W.P. anyway. I could be preaching to the choir, but I thought I'd throw my thoughts in anyway.

Hey, thanks. Mine snapped on the freeway doing 75 as I pulled in front of an 18 wheeler after passing him.
Replaced it in the driveway with just over 60K on the ticker. I've only got 105K on it now, but it's been running 31s since 33K, so it's probably more like 130K now. Thinking about doing the belt, pump, radiator, and all other engine work at the same time. Need a shop like yours though so I can get out of the cold. For some reason I always wait until winter to do these projects and I end up freezing my off.

Are you in SW Idaho or SE Idaho?
