So, while my starion engine is undergoing its rebuild,I've decided to work out the demons haunting my truck until the new motor is ready to go in. I have a Weber 32/36 DFEV and I do not run a fuel pressure regulator. Now my problem is this: The truck runs and drives fine, but lacks power. When I turn it off and it sits for a few minutes, it is really hard to start, almost like it is flooded. My theory is that without the fuel pressure regulator, the pump is pushing too much gas into the carb and when I turn it off, the overpressureized fuel lines are causing the carb to flood. I also notice the smell of gas and my carb to manifold gaskets are wet with gas. Would a fuel pressure regulator solve this problem or do I need to rebuild my carb?
