all i was saying was that those were the more recent failures that come to mind. i can remember a jeep 4.0, a toyota, and i believe a chevy tahoe having failures since i started here, but oh well. im not trying to trash napa. im just saying based on my own experience, i dont trust their electrical units.

btw, never heard of a water cooled alternator. the unit in question was a 2001 LR discovery, with a 4.0? whatever the v8 was. anywho, the first alternator we put on it fried within 6 hours. we put it on, the car sat in the shop overnight, the customer picked it up when we opened, and before the day was over, it was towed in and had alternator #2 on it. that particular alternator lasted a little longer (3 days if memory serves right), but same scenario.
