Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey all, been lurking around the forum for about 3 weeks now just reading and learning. Bit of a super newb when it comes to 4x4.

Recently bought a 1990 SWB Pajero 2.5 TDi. Truck is in amazing condition given it is 20 years old now. Only 116,000kms (72,000 miles).

It already has 31 x 10.5 BFG all terrains on 15 inch 2 piece BERG wheels and an ARB bull bar. Did the stereo myself just replaced speakers and now has a CD player.

Did a service as soon as I got it just for piece of mind but looking underneath I am going to replace all the rubber bushes with poly ones before I hit the offroad, has a bit of steering slack which needs adjusting but probably not helped by the cracked and dying bushes. Want to lift if 2 inches in the near future also.

Thanks for having me.

A lot of the steering slop is probably the idler arm shaft bushing worn out.

Thanks for the kind words. This picture is actually the one from when it was for sale. I haven't taken any myself yet but will do.

I am sus on the idler arm bush as part of the steering slop issue and plan or replacing it along with a number of others.

2" body lifts are quick/easy, only takes one day if its not rusty<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I really need to look further in to the body lift idea.

It looks really easy I agree but my concern was about the fuel filler neck length and other things like that. I imagine the bumpers etc wouldn't line up after a body lift.

I was more so thinking of 2" suspension lift.

If I went a 2" body lift and 2" suspension I could fit 35's though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
