i cant get her off. even used pb blaster. The splines appeat to be in good shape. do i need a special tool ? or do i need to fabricate a thick plate that will work as a pry plate by screwing into the two threaded holes on either side of the main threaded shaft. Thanks

I have used a steering wheel puller on free rental from the local part store.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Body Damage is Cool
You could make a plate and use the holes , but the free rental @ Car Zone always seemed quicker to me.

Yes, just loosen the nut almost all the way (failing to do it this way means you will whack the snot out of yourself with the wheel when it comes loose), and alternate a maximum yank on the left and then the right side of the wheel at the spokes, and it will come loose. Has worked for me every time, including the time I whacked the snot out of myself...
