well....1st...ASA???....L...I have no idea what that is...im dumb to a lot of this...L

I think he's referring to his '1st' point about a sunroof company called ASA...

Actually ASA is the Mitsubishi software for looking up spare parts (it replaces CAPS). You can download the core program from MitsubishiLinks.com run by one of the forum members here. The site also holds PDF versions of all the FSM's and even some of the less helpful books (Haynes, Chilton, etc) Beware that ASA is a 178MB download. it will take awhile on DSL and an eternity on dial-up.

It's the core program meaning it only works for chassis/body and electrical. The section for accessories is not included in the download, but also not essenetial. ASA also does not work for some Mitsu cars like the Conquest/Starion, Colt, etc. But those parts are listed in a PDF sheet found either at Mitsu lionks or other nameplate related forum sites.

Now that we've got that out of the way, onto the photos... Well, it is hard to tell as it's a little out of focus and the lighting isnt great.

From what i can tell you have a severe case of surface rust... but have far it extends into the structure I cant tell from these pics. I cant tell if any of the main structure, brackets or tubing is compromised.

It looks as though the sunroof is still mounted - correct? Are you able to run the motor at all and open and close the glass? I know your main problem is leaks but i'd dont recall you saying anything about the operation of the unit itself.

If the sunroof assembly works, then you could try cleaning and treating the rust. There's stuff out there like metal rescue (usually needs to be submerged for hours) or stuff from Eastwood that works really well for this.

Sure I'd like to sell you my spare unit, but if your unit works I'm not sure it would be worth your expense in freight, etc to get another unit. But it's up to you.

My unit will still require new seals just like yours as rthey've dry rotted over time, and it needs to have the shade cover cleaned up a bit, but otherwise was nice and clean with no rust. Suprising considering this part of the country.

If you still want to consider getting mine, Definitely keep yours or at least the good bits off of it... at least the glass. You never know when you will become the victim of an attempted break-in. Just dont toss it!
