Getting the Wheeling Fever

Got my 2.6 bolted to the tranny, but now the new aftermarket engine mounts are not fitting correctly. I bought them from Advance, first mistake, and have checked the part number (2731) with my normal parts house guy. He shows the same number. The number on the side of the new mount is MB006605, number on the old MB260572. Has anyone already solved this riddle?

1988 Dodge Raider, Clearwater, 33x12.5 Buckshots, RB 2" Lift, Weber, 2.6L rebuilt by me with a lot of help from you guys. Thanks!

You may want to have them check stock at the supplier. Anything I find for MB006605 is for a Galant/Lancer early model.

I've received bad mounts before. The locator nub or 'teet' was located in the wrong clock position. This was either a manufacturing or packaging mistake. I got them reshipped and they were correct on the 2nd go.

IIRC correctly, either 3.0 or 2.6 the mounts are identical L & R.

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but it happens alot with mis packaged parts. Also happened to me once with a caliper for the Montero. Correct caliper, but had wrong mount bracket.

After multiple phone calls between Mitsu and Dodge dealers, here's what I found. The MB006605 is one of 3 mounts available for the 88 Montero, but not for the Raider. The MB260572 is the only mount for the Raider, but none of the 3 for the Montero. Here's the kicker, MB260572 is no longer available through Dodge, but Mitsu has 53 in a warehouse in Atlanta. And, the Mitsu dealer didn't want order them for me because they couldn't determine the number was correct for my truck. So, after I signed a statement in blood that I was responsible if the mounts didn't fit, two will be here Friday.

I still don't understand, and not sure I want to. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Did you try checking the Mitsu ASA program yourself to see if the part's listed?

I haven't used that yet, been able to find most everything I need here on the forum. I'll check it out though. Looks like it could come in handy. Thanks

IIRC ASA doesnt work with Raider VIN's. Neither do Conquest VINs. it has something to do with only accepting MMNA (Mitsu Motors North America?) car & truck VINs. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...but I never got my 87 Raider VIN to work with ASA.

On the plus side, there are scans of the Dodge parts book featuring all the good cars (Raider, Conquest, etc) and a few forgettable ones (Colt, etc). It's in PDF and the parts are easy to find. I downloaded mine from a Quest site, but it's around.

I've got my big "flea-bay" special book here. '87-'88 raider both show MB260572 for the front mounts, stick or auto. Transfer support (small square one) for manual trans is MB007137 for both years and MB309700 ('87) or MB007136 ('88) for the main trans mount.

Same parts are shown for an '88 Monty 4 cyl stick on ASA.
MB007136 ('88) is also superceded MB309700 ('87)

So according to the Dodge parts book and the Mitsubishi ASA program there should be no difference between Raider or Monty mounts for '87-'88 4 cyl stick.

Hope this helps a bit. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Also scanned through the big book for MB006605.

Found it listed for '88 RWD Ram 50 and Power Ram 50.

Possibly used for other years, but my book is '87-'88 only.
