Once upon a time we had a very nice Opel Sportwagen. I had taken Cathie to work and had pulled into the left lane at a light to turn left and head back to work. A motorcycle cop pulls in front of me and blocks the intersection on the cross street, and motions me to go ahead and turn, as a funeral procession is coming up behind me. One of the other escort cops then passes me on the right and hooks the Opel's front bumper with the case saver bar, ripping it off and flipping him off higgledy piggley down the street.

Everybody fixes his own, since the "investigating officer" was the one who waved me ahead. All I had to do was replace 8 bolts.

9 months later I get served with a lawsuit where his insurance, State Farm, sued me for the cop's damages. Luckily, a couple of Cathie's coworkers were waiting to cross the street and saw the whole thing, and the judge tossed the case on the force of the depositions. AND awarded me attorney's fees, and unheard of event...
