Modify your signature to include your vehicle and you'll get more useful responses. Not knowing whether you're dealing with a 1986 carbureted 2.6l 4 cyl. Gen I or a 2006 3.8l V6 Gen III makes any diagnosis pretty much a shot in the dark.

If Gen1 v6, check your computer codes. Has the ECU ever been replaced?
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

If it is the 2.6l It could be the carb. I had a carb on my 1984 spx which had a 2.6l and the carb started cutting out randomly on hills. I wiould have to wait a little while, then it would restart and run fine for another misc amount of miles and then cut out again. It mainly did it on hills

two tests:
when it does it again, pour water over the fuel pump and engine compartment fuel lines, and see if that lets it crank right up.
plug the hose from the carb fuel bowl to the charcoal canister and see if that cures it.
Not responsible for advice not taken...

It makes it difficult for people to give you an answer if they have to investigate to find out what kind of vehicle you have. If you'll modify your signature (which shows up on this page so one doesn't have to click your screen name to view your profile) to include your vehicle, it'll make it easier for answers to be more quickly and accurately given.
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

Ditto. You're asking people for help. Golden rule here is... Make it as easy for them to help you as possible. Besides it's not too hard to add that to your sig and you don't have to show your sig with every post if you don't want to. If you need help changing your sig, just let me know. BTW, any luck figuring out your problem?
