I can't find a petrol starter anywhere here, so got hold of whatever I could find that's Mitsu. [Linked Image]

Serial numbers 31100-60AC 2 and M001T72483ZC 12v

Is it possible to use parts from this to repair the old one?
I'll be able to tell the if mechanical parts are good, but how about the electrical parts, magnetic switch - would I just burn them out....?

The problem with the starter is intermittent. Sometimes she'll run ok and the car fires right up, and others - the starter spins for a half second then disengages and spins down without starting the car...
