What's the minimum lift needed on the front to clear "skinny" (e.g. 12.50) 35s? This is assuming that cutting sheet metal/fenders is no problem.
Could it be done w/ say BJ spacers and 2" BL if you cut the fenders back? I'm guessing the firewall seam is the problem?

With 200+ Billion electrical parts, the world most complicated machine is inside your own skull.

Question Reality.

most of it depends on the wheel you are using. i had a set of bfg at 35x12.5 on stock steel wheels and cleared them pretty well with just trimming. i think they rubbed a bit on the pitman arm and idler arm at full lock. 3/4" spacer would take care of that. mostly you have to hammer back the seam as much as possible. i had a post on here when i first put the tires on that showed what needed to be cut and hammered dont know if it could be found...i now run a 1" bl and have cut the hell outta the fenders (more to get rid of the rust than to clear the tires). i also have bj spacers, but they are mainly for the extra little bit of travel. if you are not afraid of the hammer, 35s should fit on stock wheels. i will try to find that post

here she is although no pics :-( linky

4"

12.5's aren't skinny, though.

You can clear 35x12.50's w/a 2" BL, 1.5" BJ-Spacers, and some body seam adjustment. You may or may not need to cut the fenders, though likely most have to do some trimming.

On my '91 I have done the above as well as cut 2" out of the fenders. The fenders were dinged up and since I planned on SASing it at some point, I went ahead and cut off the 2"(welded on 1/8 wire to reinforce he lip).

The rims on it are 15x10's w/2.5" BS, 35x12.50 Xterrains and they clear under compression at full lock. I first had 315 BFG's on 15x10's w/3.5" BS on it, and they cleared as well.

Steering wheel at full lock(w/o holding it).

It might rub under a hard full compression, but I don't wheel that way.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.
