So I have been court ordered to do 24 hours of community service that must involve picking up trash.... so far I have not been able to find any non-profit organization to accomplish this with 12 hours is due by the 25th of September and I am running out of ideas. Anyone know of any non-profit organizations in AZ I can contact to get this done?

Go to your public works department and see if there's anybody there willing to help you out. They'd probably love to have somebody pick up trash for them. See if they'll let you clean their shop or something like that...

How about the state forestry service or the USFS or park service? Or any charity who will accept the money from the aluminum cans you pick up...

Go to your nearest library and ask to serve your community service there. Libraries also have trash cans.
My wife is the branch manager of a county library; our system uses community service workers as long as they did nothing violent.

Go to your state corporations site and incorporate a non-profit with a buddy's address and listing him as pres and secy. Go out and pick up trash for your hours and get him to sign off on your time sheet. All perfectly legal, unless you find a judge without a sense of humor. The trick is to actually do the work. No slackin' there.

Give your local parks and recreation folks a call. Public space always needs to be cleaned up. Doesn't always have to be a non-prof.
Or get with the local food bank about breaking down boxes and separating the recyclables from the bonafide trash. Same for soup kitchens.

1. "Clean out" the Judge's house....
2. Go down to the local "pick-up" place for prostitutes. "Your honor, I spent 24hrs trying to pick up and all I got was an STD..."

Drive up to Clarkdale Az, (I'll even sign off on the travel time), and I have a property that needs to have a yard full of tumbleweeds removed. The owner is ill, and she is in violation of the Town Code. Really, I'll make sure you get the 24 hours "quickly"... If your interested, PM me.

Is it your property or is it her property and you're representing her?
Could make a big difference with the judge.
OTOH, if the judge isn't too power hungry and heavy handed, any genuine effort put forth by you should count.
