that looks like 10lbs of sh!t in a 1lbs bag!

Is that a compliment? I can't tell...

I think it is, Shaun tends to know I do things a step beyond what most people do. Well I guess most people here know I do.

OK More conventional, just our two solo canoes but with 3 bicycles while we are riding on a ferry.

I might start a thread about bicycle racks, I do not feel mine are optimized.

And I am hoping Bill McVicker shows up here with his beautiful wood stripper mounted up on a Monte. I was out in Ohio a few weeks back and visited him. His Canoe is sweet. I wish I had more time during my brief overnight there. I would have loved to get out paddling with him.

Cheers, Charlie

Here's a so-so pic of mine from way back. I may have more at home. I'll try to remember to look. It's a little on the short side at ~15'9". Charlie, did you paddle in that voyageur? That would be a very cool thing to be a part of!

I started back for an MBA at the end of August. Time is very scarce for the next 21 months. As noted by my lack of posting on Charlie's stopping by. I'll work to remedy that at least. We had a great time, albeit short.

No unfortunately. That particular boat was borrowed up in Whitehorse for the Yukon 1000 canoe race. They had traveled up from The Adirondacks with a 28' canoe but due to an illness of a tandem team member at the last minute they had to add one more person into the Voyageur so they got the larger boat to haul the extra gear for the week long race.

I do have a chance to get into a 28' but it just isn't happening this year.

No...unfortunately I'll be in Key West that weekend for a Jimmy Buffett deal. Hopefully next time.
Thanks for the invite, though!

Heheh... I seem to be a post revivalist here lately, when I actually do post... or is that pre-post revivalist? Hmmm... anyway... here's my update, albeit two years later...

After a few years with other things going on, we've finally pulled the plug (maybe a bad metaphor in this case?) although slightly different direction. Yesterday I brought home two little 10' Pelican sit-in kayaks. Nice and light, forgiving for newbies, and fairly universal for different areas. Also, CHEAP! I used the Thule stackers that I got with Betsy II back in 99, after I found them in the basement (after 5 moves and 7000kms), and brought home our little play boats.

Guess I need to learn how to haul them properly, since it took me way too long in the parking lot to strap them up, but they survived. Today I try to find a way to store them in the way too crowded garage, and then next weekend I load them up on the Paj again for our first adventure. Pics will update this thread, as was the original intent of the OP (me).

This is a little late but I figure you can't really have too many pictures of Montero's with canoes on top.

Same canoe, different Monteros...
