This project has peaked my curiosity.
Looking under mine last night I have a few observations/questions.
It looks like the driveshaft might hit the clutch slave. Have you put the trans into its normal position , as if the engine were in , to see if slave clears.
Man, not much room to work on exhaust pipes around there either.
Quite a few M.S. 4.9 high pinion pumpkins out there in the yards. Hope this all works out <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />.
