This won't sound like much to most readers... But I do need to know.
I use my cigeratte lighter for lights and other appliances. This weekend the damn thing vanished INTO the dash! What is that all about?
Most lighters I have seen are in two pieces, one goes into the hole from the outside and the back (electric part) screws onto it from the inside.
This back side has a round screw that takes the 12V positive plug and a flat prong that takes the negative plug.
Is this what is in there? Or is the damn MOPAR lighter different?
Also how in heck should I go about reattaching it? I do have a new aftermarket one I can use. I can also install a "washer" the size of the lighter base on the outside to hold it forever.
It appeared to me that the lighter was installed into a THIN plactic part of the dash. That THIN part seems to have given away from pushing the appliance plugs into the lighter.
Any help here is appreciated. I won't be around that Jeep until Saturday. So I'd like to go well armed.

The stock lighter is the typical one that threads together. Made by Casco, I believe. Maybe it got too hot and melted itself enough clearance to fall through! Your washer idea to repair it sounds like a good one.
