I'd like to go to this relatively easy longer trail for camping. We will camp early somewhere in the middle of the trail, and then we will finish the trail on Sunday. Usually I make this trail in one day, but now I am going with my wife and I want to relax and see some scenery. This trail is located to the south of highway 88, it is making a half-circle starting on 88 at the large reservoir (I do not remember the name) and ending on 88 near Tragedy Springs. The trail is not difficult, but you still have to have rock sliders. This is my previous trip there: http://www.olegmoskalenko.com/pardoe2006/index.html . Movies 2 and 3 give some idea about the surface.

I am moving this trip to 09/25 - 09/26 weekend. I realized that I have to stay in home 09/18 - 09/19, for personal reasons, so I am moving the trip to 09/25.

Ray, Carlos, Russel, Bruno, Joanna, Michael, everybody - this may be our last opportunity this season for high-elevation camping, let's not miss it.

I should be free the following weekend though (Oct 2-3)?

I'm only free this weekend and Oct 9th weekend.
But the weekend of the 9th I would like to do a longer or more challenging trip, let's say the Dusy or Ershim lake or the Rubicon.

Ray, sorry, I did not understand you over the phone. I thought you will be available on 9/25 weekend.

Carlos, I am afraid that I am not ready for the Dusy-level trails, yet. But I'll check your trail story when you go A longer trail in vicinity ... I do not know anything, except Black Rock desert 3-days trail across Nevada desert. I have not been there for 5 years so I do not mind going there if there is a good company.

Sounds like we have difficulties to get together, everybody has families and plans. May be, somebody (Ray ?) has to plan in advance and post the events here, so we will be able to adjust our plans and prepare for the common events.

Hey you're doing fine planning them Oleg. Just give us a bit more time. Even when you do that, there are simply some plans we cannot alter but you know me. I'll try to go if possible.

I can't make Oleg, I'll be at the Overland Journal Rally that weekend teaching Ray some new tricks.

The Black Rock desert 3-days trail across Nevada desert sounds good.

If we have a good size group then we can organize the trip. This place is very remote, much "remoter" than Mojave. If we will have around 5 vehicles, then we do not need a special permit but we have enough people for fun and safety. Who else is interested ? What is the availability ? The weekend 10/09 is OK for me, but 10/16 I am busy. Let me know.

Ditto! I always enjoy going out to Black Rock.

At this point I can't commit, but will keep an eye on this thread and join in if I can.

Let's allow everybody make their decision in a week. If by the end of next week (by 09/25) there will be at least 5 vehicles committed, then we can plan the trip.
