After looking at lighters that are for sale on eBay I find my lighter to have a plastic sleeve that fits the hole in the dash. THAT plastic sleeve is what gave way! I was thinking the hole in the dash gave way and got larger. But that thinking seems to be incorrect. The original hole itself is larger than a replacement lighter will fit. So I ordered another stock lighter that has the plastic sleeve already on it. I have discarded the idea of installing washers and an aftermarket lighter. INSTEAD I ordered a 20 amp toggle switch to fit into the blank space next to the fog light switch. I intend to wire that switch to an aftermarket lighter to place on the bottom of the dash. I will use THIS lighter for the purpose I was using the original one. The new original lighter shall sit there and grin and not be used much if any ever again.
