I missed y'all.

I may have a semi-stable place to call home now. I'm doing "well". The divorce will be finalized in a about 4 weeks... Anyone in CA who wants to give me their $.02 about how to handle the pre-trial meeting with her atty and mine is welcome to speak their mind to/at me, I'd appreciate it actually.

As i drive around here in central Massachusetts and see cars and trucks with huge gaping rot holes in them, i think about my poor montero and wonder just how long it will survive New England. My god the roads suck, I forgot just how much they suck.
Add to that, I went to my buddy's house this afternoon to check on a "thud" that was coming from the front end. It looks like someone tried to take my CC.... So glad that dam thing is big and buried in there.
a few of the skid plate bolts had been removed... Yes I am sure they were removed because when I last changed the oil, I put them on with fresh flat and lock washers.... the saw marks were a dead give away too.

Don't know when I'll get back to CA... I may be down to visit a friend in the "triangle" area of NC for a bit, but Crazy Dave, Thank you for all your help and friendship, I wish we could have done more ruins together... never know when you'll need a belt :-)
To all I met at the dunes a while back, Kris, Carlos, Ray jo Grasscat .. Those few hours hanging out really meant allot to me and I hope we all can dig huge holes in the sand with my kids.
Thanks also for thinking of me when the coastal run made to out past Pozo to Hungry Valley, As it turns out, the Mojave run in April was important to my soon-to-be ex wife becase she was leaving for that weekend with her boyfriend.
Well.
Off and on to greater things.

Good luck man. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, and she ended up with that too. It gets better.

If you have to pay support (alimony) make sure to ask that it is reduced over time as I had mine. Bee-otch still refuses to get a "real" job but the courts saw through that.

I think you got luck in one aspect. My ex got to keep the Montero during the three years of divorce proceedings and just f'd it up until it barely ran and was trashed inside & out - then she turned it over to me.

On the plus side - I've been "parking my rig" in a lot of new garages since then & more frequently.

don't think of it so much as a divorce but rather getting early parole!

2001 Montero XLS. Needs some TLC.
My B**ch ex-wife really treated this vehicle badly. Been fixing it up since I had to take possesion after the divorce.

Yeah, Mike's a new expert on this whole area & there have been a lot of new garages. Should have seen him the other night checking out new garages.

Seriously though. Joe, divorce ain't easy. I have no clue, personally. My parents were together until my Dad's death. My wife and I have been together coming up on 15 years. I have, however had first-hand experience dealing with the aftermath and sorting of ones life following a divorce. My business partner has been going through it since we opened our store in 10/07. It was finalized in early 08, but the emotional damage and fallout has been rough to deal with. Hang in there. Find some new friends, cultivate the friendships with those that have had your back through the ordeal and look at this as an opportunity to turn over a new leaf. Try new things...

And if you're ever in the Athens, GA area, shoot me a PM and we'll meet for a

Words of advice from my grand dad a.k.a. "Big Daddy";

A woman is like a hot bath; takes a long time to cool down & when it does, it has a ring.

The quickest way to get over one is to get under one.

Step 2 seemed to work the best for me.

Good luck... it does get easier. Hell ,I even go hunting with my husband-in-law on occasion.
