Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello friends.. I am planing to reaplace the entire front suspension for a long arm type and I am looking a Dana 44 front differential which comes with the XJ or ZJ Jeep (Cherokee or Grand Cherokee) those differentials do not come with hubs, is there any trouble with the transfer that actualy have on my Gen 1 Montero 2 door??l. It is because in the actual set up, I have hubs... or should I look for a front differential with hubs?.

Thanks

JorgeA

Body Damage is Cool
i thought the jeep dana44 was passenger side drop. you need a driverside drop. i think old ford broncos and jeep wagoneers had the driverside drop you are looking for.

as far as i know our Tcases are good but there is not alot of aftermarket support(if i remember right) many people have swaped in the jeep tcase and if you do that there is more aftermarket support and more options on the axles. good luck

you can use the jeep T-case or the montero case but unless you are outside the US those jeeps will have dana 30's or worse dana 35's. Your best bet is the driverside drop wagoneer Dana 44 because these are closer to the right size and they are already 6 lug, They are leaf sprung but they are much cheaper than the cherokee axles. Like posted above if you want a link setup a bronco dana 44 would be good but you'll have to swap to chevy spindles for 6 lug pattern. There are endless axle combos and transfer cases but it really just matters what you want, how much work you're willing to do and how much money you have. The 2 axles i mentioned are the easiest.
