Thanks, Nabsie and Landraider for all your consideration and hard work. All the other Pajero parts I scrounged for my 4D56T fit just fine. Why the thermostat should be an issue I don't know. I will, however, post pics of my truck and engine soon. Hood is still off the truck, but nobody's perfect. Oh, and one question about the thermostat: some of them have a rubber ring that fits around them. Is the Pajero thermostat one of these? Could this be the extra surface area I'm looking for to make the thermostat sit flush?
