I'd check every freeze plug, coolant hose, and fitting for leakage first, and then if I absolutely determined that it was coming from between the head and block, I would Re-torque the bolts. nothing to lose there.

Good luck. let us know how it goes. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

my friends starion started leaking out the rear water port from the hg. Wasnt leaking into the cylinder or oil. Make sure thats where it is coming from. Try retorqueing the head first, otherwise you will need to change the hg. Is it spraying ior just dribbling when it's warmed up? If it's a spray you will wanna get it fixed soonmer and layer otherwise you will end up with a channel in the block or head eventually.

My shortblock 3.0 from defunct Densmore Engines had a SAE drain plug in it instead of British or metric(whatever they use). While on a long trip the Permatix 1 they used washed out. The leak wasn't visable under the Ex manifold ithout removing starter. The deal had the plug.

AFAIK, all of the oil and water drains on the 3.0L are SAE pipe taper as supplied from the factory. The 4 oil gallery plugs are 3/8" PT and the 2 water drains are 1/4" PT.

My best guess is that the head gasket got pinched on install, probably by getting the head dropped on it. I'd go back to the rebuilder.
