So I finally took "Trugga" on a test drive, the engine has a bad hesitaiton on acceleration especially from a stop and the idle is a bit rough. When at cruise speeds it runs pretty smooth but it will missfire sometimes. The timing is at 10 degrees before TDC and that's where it seems to run best anyways. I've been looking for vacuum leaks and haven't found any but i would like a vacuum diagram if anyone knows of one, there is only a few lines so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Another thing is the engine has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor so what do you guys think i should check?

First thing I'd do is check the TPS and MAF. Second on my list would be optical dizzy (works same as DSM CAS) and engine crank/cam timing. A DSM CAS being 180 out does this exact same problem as you are describing.

You might try running some Seafoam in the gas tank - you've probably got injectors that aren't spraying as well as they are supposed to.

Maybe i'll rotate 180 degrees and re stab the dizzy, if that doesn't i'll swap out the MAF (bacause i have one) then look into a TPS.

180 degrees on the dizzy made it not run, so i put it back, my other MAF was from the 3.0 and it made it run like crap so i might need to try a different 2.4 MAF. I installed a new PCV valve just for the hell of it today, i don't think it'll do anything but ya never know. This week i'll hit the junk yads and look for newer 2.4's and try and get a new TPS and maybe a ISC.

I might also just need to run a tank of gas through it because prior to me getting this engine it sat for maybe 6-7 years.

There's the problem. Varnishy gas, clogged injectors, clogged fuel filter, clogged fuel pickup at the tank, gummed up pump. The stuff goes bad in a month or less, and just keeps on getting worse.
