The 235/75/15's will rub on tight turns. Not sure what they rub on since I put my lift on shortly after I put the tires on. Didn't sound too serious though.

Check the underside of your front bumper. Most guys rub there and they just trim it away with a knife or dremel.

It doesn't rub now that the lift is on, that's what I was trying to say in a roundabout way.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
ive talked to a couple inspection stations, also my mechanic who helps me with my autocross car. both have said no spring spacers? i can add heavy duty springs and shocks tho. i can only go two sizes up from stock tire size. anyone got pics of the spacer? so i can show my mech what it looks like. and how would 225/75/15 tires look on a lifted kia? it seems to me most of the inspection stations around me are confused about this. most say i cant lift it but i see alot of lifted jeeps.

lifted jeeps run different springs. and maybe body lifts. They also could be going with the phrase, "It's easier to say sorry, than to ask". i.o.w, They probably just do it and see how long they get away with it.

Body Damage is Cool
Spring spacers and strut spacers are two compleatly differant things. Every coil sprung pickup running around with a leveler kit is running the strut spacers, I even have them on my 05 F150. A spring spacer that twists into the coil spring is very dangerous and weakens the springs. Strut spacers are installed by about every car dealer around and maintains factory warranty, They are safe, and I have ran mine since 2000 or 2001 and about 120,000 miles. My Kia handles better now than it ever did stock.

Just my 2 cents, Dennis

thanks Dennis for clearing that up for me. I went to my local auto store, asked the guy about a spring spacer.. he showed me 2 types one is what u described..if its illegal why do they sell them in my state..he had no answer for me. and yes the biggest problem up here is rust!! so i have some issues with frame rust, nothing major tho. this little sporty is a beast!

The best spacers for your Sportage are the ones Everet makes. They are the only ones I know that are designed and built just for the Sportage and are proven tough and reliable. Check out his web site (upyourkia.com), my Kia is the dirty white one with the first set of spacers ever made.
