There are a ton of shocks out there.

I'm in need of a set of front shocks.

So what do you think are the best and which are the most reasonable?

I run bilstein HD and i like them.
Might as well go for all 4 to balance the handling.

OME shocks are nice as well.

do you have a lift?

I've used:

Rancho RS5000 - unsure of condition since they were on the truck when I got it, but it rode rough.
KYB Gas-A-Just and Monomax - both good, but Monomax was a little stiff for my liking.
OME (Old Man EMU) - just right, although I installed the suspension system including rear leafs and torsion bars

if not lifted and going for standard daily driver performance, I'd see what OME can get you for stock replacement if available, or the KYB GR2 line, in that order.

others swear by Bilstein.

(HA! sniped!)

The truck is stock but is higher than my friends.
Bilstein at $100.00 a pop is a little to high priced.

In the day a good gas shock to hide the little stuff was nice.

I am looking for a nice ride but I put about 1000 miles off road this year so I need something that can handle that too.

The shocks I have in it now are blue probably Monroe and they lasted at least 5 years but they have been a little stiff. I put new tires on and after 3000 miles they started to cup, so I need some new shocks soon.
