After thinking about the crank and valve damage, I made a few calls. Scored a 129,000 mile engine for $650. Also picked up a few needed bits and pieces as part of the package.

It looks like the new motor was serviced by a Mitsubishi dealer before the donor was totaled. The belts and oil filter are Mitsubishi, and they look like they were recently replaced, timing belt too! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Had the new motor out in about 1.5 hours. It's really easy to get to the bell housing bolts after the wrecked body was torched, ripped from the frame. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

It took around 15 hours swapping the engine by myself. No torches were allowed.

Runs great. This one is much tighter than my 95SR. Maybe having 100,000 miles less has something to do with that. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
