Finally had my friend change the cold start injector time switch with a part received off e-bay,oem # 89462-20050 and the 22RE stll takes 3 cranks or more to start this morning.Any other ideas before we bypass the CSI switch?Starts first time any other time of day.

Make sure the fuel manifold is holding its pressure. If the manifold or the injectors are leaking, it'll be a hard first start while the pressure comes up.

Injector could be bad.

ECU temp sender could be bad.

Wiring at connectors on switch and sender could be bad. This happened to me. One of the wires was pulled out of the harness.

Download the FSM manual (see link a top of forum) and it will give you an ECU pinout. Then look for the cold start troubleshooting and it will tell you to probe the wires at the ECU leading to the switch and sender and it should read certain values. This will tell you what sensor is bad. Dont throw any more parts at it until you check.

You could also pull the injector out and crank it over when its cold and see if it sprays.

After having the CSI switch bypassed it still took 3 tries or so to start after sitting all night. Then I changed the way I started it...now I turn the key to the on position for a second or two, then crank and flip the toggle bypass switch and it's been starting first time ever since.

Am I missing something here?

Sounds to me like you're not holding fuel pressure like kewlynx suggested.

True. But unfortunatly thats a hard one to diagnose, as there is no service port on the manifold to hook a pressure gauge up to. I guess you'd have to tap into the lines somewhere like the fuel filter (which is also a pita)
