I've got one of the original prototypes of Misterbishi's front sway disconnects on my ride (Augie's old ride circa 2003). Unless someone knows otherwise I don't think his new one is available anymore.

I believe the threaded pins that locked the halved bar to the pivoting disconnect piece are rusted or worn which is giving me a pop when I corner.

I really like this mod and would like to keep it but chances are retooling it is not an option.

At the welding supply I saw some brazing wire that is 45% silver - I believe it was these guys...I dont remember what the disconnect was made of but it looks like some sort of chromoly. Do you think brazing with this silver stuff around the whole outer edge of the two ends (where the bar fits into the disconnect) would be enough to hold it on there or am I wasting my time & $$?

I would weld it being careful not to get it too hot. Get on it quick and do short little beads then cool it down with a splash of water.......repeat

Brazing it will not be strong enough. It is basically high temp soldering with no metal penetration of the two surfaces to lock them together.

I would think welding a sway bar would be a bad idea. Can the old set screws be drilled out, the holes re-threaded and new screws inserted?

Those disconnects are cool

Welding a sway bar IS a bad idea....but I think it can be done with short bursts and cooling it down right away.

Set screws are probably a better idea.

What are these sway bars you speak of?

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

I think those are those metal bits I took off and threw away years ago. Lol.

Yes, ride with Hazy thru curves at speed and watch our combined massive body weight peg the tiltometer...

I like the disco's - best of both worlds.

And I've lost a little weight.

And I don't have a tiltometer anymore.

Thank you very much...

If I had reliable disco's, I'd run swaybars in the front...
