I had this carrier on my '80 Toyota pick in the '90's. After driving to Costa Rica and back again from California, I never had any issues! We spent about 40% of the entire year off road/highway. The jungles of Mexico and Central America were amazing. We filled the can every chance we got so carried it full most of the trip. Just my experience fellas. I always gave the part used to tighten the can on with your thumb a few taps with a hammer, just to snug it up for bouncing through the rivers and mud holes.
