Jimmy Stewart was in a movie titled Shenandoah circa sometime in the mid-60's

The setting was Civil War era and Jimmy was the owner of a large southern plantation with a family coming of age.

One suitor for his daughter's affection had a talk with his prospective father-in-law.

The suitor professed and undying love for the lady. And, Jimmy's answer has always stood out. It was something to the effect:

You may love her, but do you like her.

There is a certain amount of truth to that in 'love' is more in the present tense and emotion related. The 'like' is in the tense of lasting foundation.

But, that is philosophical rambling and a longing for movies with meaning rather than violence, gratuitous sex and flashy special effects...

Harvey was great as was Mr Smith Goes to Washington....
