I have my Eyes set on two tear drop trailers out in the country. There in really good condition but have been setting there for years. Looks like one of them have bios Ply tires on it still! Im going to see how far 500$ will get me if I wave it around....I think a hub change to 6 lug and some 32" and im in.

a std jeep trailer had a bed height of about 2'.
I found specs saying height is 24", height to top of box is 48", inside height is 22", which lacks 2" of matching up, which may be box floor thickness. If you have a raised center axle with drop spindles, I guess you could claim 24" and the axle center/most of span, but the wheels have to clear the inner side of the hub over obstacles.

I usually just sleep on the ground, if it?s wet or covered in snow i sleep in the truck. I have really been wanting one of those tent cots, I think that would bring my camping experience to a whole new level. I have 2 of those tent cots. pretty nice set up. You do not want to be much taller than 6'3" and I would say over 250 to be comfortable. quick set up and take down does not feel cramped at all. I know I would like one of those canadian m101 trailers behind recon. Maybe with the swivel pintle set up.

If you have a raised center axle with drop spindles, I guess you could claim 24" and the axle center/most of span, but the wheels have to clear the inner side of the hub over obstacles. On their history page, they talk of finally being able to fit 44" tires. I'm wondering if the 24" ground clearance is based on that, thus giving an artificially high number, since the wheels/tires are supposed to be matched to the tow rig, and not many folks run 44s. As fasteddy points out, the suspension appears to be be hanging even with (or even slightly below) the center of the hub.

I wouldn't think that the trailer needs a lot more ground clearance than the tow vehicle, too, so 24" may be overkill.

So I have been a busy bee this last month and here is why <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Very nice.<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Will 32's fit under the trailer's wheel wells or will those be modded also? They look a little small for 32's from the pics. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

defintiely keep us post with progress photos. I am interested how you structure your interior. Its a 5x8 base you are starting out with right? Whats great getting the same wheel pattern and size tires as the raider is yo are set with spares and having the room infront of the trailer for spare tire, fuel, etc... you are going to have a nice set up. good job.
