Called KYB - the issue he said is that the OEM shock is "quite stiff" for the Gen2. KYB 'charges' their monotube shocks to be stiffer than OEM specs by a factor of 10-20%.

Any alternative would be a loss in stiffness compared to the OEM - he said any other shock would be around a 30% loss.

So you're stuck with their OEM replacement size. They measure from the thread shoulder to the eyelet center - so taking the polyurethane bushing and washer into consideration - that's about a loss of an inch compared to my previous measurements.

So - Monomax OEM replacement specs:
Monomax Extension max -18"
My measurement - 19.1" minus 1" for bushing - 18"

Monomax compression max - 11"
My measurement - 15.6"

So we're good.

...But then he gave me a part# which turned out to be the Gas Adjusts.
