I drove a gen I about eight years ago and I almost bought it but I ended up with the 96 (Gen II) as my first Montero instead.....Then got the 98 (Gen II 1/2 blister fender) but I still have a boner for a Gen I.......I don't know why. They just look utilitarian and military. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> .....I bet I end up with a gen I before too long.


96 Montero LS 24V DOHC 3.0L.
98 Montero 24v SOHC 3.5L, factory rear locker, Winter/tow package.

Yes, as the photograph shows, the Gen1 has always been a bit ahead of the rest! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

PS The photo shows my Gen1 whilst on a Mitsu 4x4 training course.
