Getting the Wheeling Fever

Hi,
When the cylinder head cracked on my 2.3l engine the "freeze plug" popped out. The engine was running with loss of coolant for about 5 minutes at highway speeds. Could this warp the engine block??? How can it be determined if the engine block is warped??? Would this lead to loss of engine compression??
If the engine block is warped is it possible to have the engine block resurfaced with the engine in the vehicle?????
Assuming the engine block is not warped how can it be verified whether the engine block is cracked??
Thanks for the help.
Mike
