I use Ansell nitrile coated Hyflex 511

They offer good protection from sharps and dirt and I wear surgical latex gloves if I need to handle alot of oil.

I'm a no glove kinda guy. But for the big and heavy work, I use the cheap leather gloves that you can buy at northern tool for $2 a pair.

If I use any gloves it's the mechanics gloves. Any kind will do for me.

When they get dirty I spray them with "Shout" and throw them in the washer with the rest of the work clothes, but I don't put them in the dryer. They look like new again.

On leather gloves I use hand cleaner to clean them.

I still prefer the originals. I remember when they were $10 a pair. The last pair I bought were almost $20.

Up here we have a huge store called "Canadian tire" and there gloves are very similar to the "mechanics" but half the price.... no more mechanics gloves for me.. they probably come out of the same factory....

Because I'm a klutz, I am a glove wearer when working on machinery.

The last time I should have worn gloves, I slit myself with a razor knife. I received 14 stitches in my right hand, nothing dangerous was cut and I was very lucky.

Now that I'm tasked with fresh concrete work for my job, I'm using various rubber gloves more, too.

Good idea to generally always wear gloves... but one instance where they can be dangerous.. around rotating machines.. same risk as clothing or long hair...

Saw an instance where a guy's glove got caught on the bit in a drill press and pulled his hand into the bit in a bad way... made a mess of his hand..

No doubt he was taking risks with his hand that close, but probably would have been less carnage to his hand without the glove.

Yep, part of the reason I don't wear them often.
I do wear steel toe sneakers though, hard as hell to find them and the TSA will freak unless you tell them before they scan em.

Wally-world carries steel toe tennies; I buy a pair every few years. My current pair resembles the Vans Wally's from the early 90s, go figure.
