Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Alrighty here's where I stand with the swap. Last I mentioned I was having some issues with keeping her running. I found out that the second ground to the COR was not wired up proper. I ran the ground that was suppose to be wired to the green wire off the MAF to a constant ground and would ya know it she stayed running!! After that I got the radiator finished mounted, topped off all the fluids and took her for a spin. The first run she ran a bit rough, but after a bit of time she warmed up nice and ran real smooth!! It's so nice to get on the highway and run at 65 in fourth with more hp left to use. It's so nice to shift into fifth and have more acceleration on tap!! I had a bit of a hiccup day two of driving her to work. Heading home at seven in the morning after a 24 hour shift and she tried ot overheat. Jumped out and saw a waterfall of antifreeze spilling out from the back of the engine!! In my haste I didn't clearance the back firewall enough and I managed to damage one of the heater hoses coming out of the block. I guess it decided to give up the ghost that morning! So after some really close quarters work I managed to repair the connection and clearance the firewall to prevent it happening again. Other then a random t-sat failure she's been trouble free since. Over all I'm really happy with the outcome. I'm gonna post a few pics of the swap and a short video of her running of anyone who's interested. If anyone has any questions I'm more then happy to answer them if I have an answer for it. Thanks to everyone who helped with ideas or links I appreciate it.
