Hey all, how are you all doing after the feast? I'm just a little heavier.... (oh no)...

I have a 93 4x reg cab 22re. It has manual steering from factory. I found a good deal on a power steering gearbox. I already have the pump and brackets to install. It might be some time though till I get to it, and it's colder than a well diggers backside right now. So, is there something I should do to preserve the gearbox till I get to it? Or is it cool to store it for a short time emptied of fluid?
Thanks.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Good eve!!

Turned my 2wd '94 into p/s and found one thing you didn't mention. May not matter on 4wd but I'll bet it does.

You will also need the steering shaft from the box's end to the firewall. They are different in the fact that the box has a different length shaft going toward the firewall. You will need to go back to the boneyard and get that shaft to match. Should give it to you or swap. Mine did.

Thanks for the tip KB1. Looking at the exploded parts breakdown it does indeed look like the two steering gearboxes are not the same dimensions.
