2 inch body lift 31x11.50 Swamper LTBs
4.62 gears lsd rear and welded front with lockouts
Weber carb waiting to be installed

get the strongest biggest one you can get. IMHO you will never get the airflow that a viscous fan offers. i went through this recently http://www.pajeroclub.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1382

I found a 12 inch puller that flows 1550 cfm...just wondering if this would work...its pretty cheap i was just trying to get a little better mpg and power. I am working on the more power part and it was one thing on my list. I got a weber carb was gonna get a header and do some exhaust work...lol. the truck doesnt pull my 31s too great and i was wanting to go to 33s when these wear out

wanna buy a fan but wondering what size i need Kevin who has a turbo'd 2.6 runs two 1650 cfm fans. Not sure if what you're looking at is sufficient. As has been noted, matching or beating the stock viscous fan setup is not so easily done.

OK, you want to save the hp of the engine driven fan, so you load up the alternator driving 3000cfm of electric fan? This does not compute....

that is why I am asking to see if it would be a good thing to try or not the main thing I like about the electric is that I can cut it off in the mud or water

Off in the water is nice. If you are up to the fan in mud, it doesn't matter...
Waste of time/money in my opinion - spend the bucks on rodding the radiator and a new fan clutch.

well by the mud i meant in mud with water on it...lol although I have been in the mud up to the fan but that involved a tractor pulling me out....what about one of the flexlite fans

The whole mechanical vs electrical thing has always made me wonder if anyone has some evidence of what the differences are. I can understand the drag of a big viscous fan and the drag of an alternator under load, but does anyone know what the viscous is doing most of the time? Does it sap a certain percentage of its peak consumption even when the motor isn't "hot"? What is hot to the fan? Does the temporary use of an electric negate any power consumption when compared to the possible all-time nature (at least to some degree) of the viscous? Does anyone really know what kind of power we're talking about when an alt is exposed to an extra, what, 20 amps of current?
So many questions!
