I had the Taurus 3.8 fan assembly on my 3.0L Gen I, controlled by a DCC (Delta Current Control) FK35 (now FK50p) unit. It is an amazing setup. No need to upgrade anything, alternator, battery, wiring, etc. This unit runs the fan only when need (mostly at low speed) and it will even run after you shut down the engine to continue cooling.

It's a little pricey, but well worth the money.

I am in the process of moving this setup to my 1998 after I find a suitable fan. The Taurus fan is to thick to fit.
