Does anyone know if the hardware is the same for the roll-up versus power windows? My local yard has has a set of powers, and I'd love to get away with just dropping the motor into the hole that the hand crank leaves. Or do I need the whole power scissor bracketry?
Thanks

Not sure. If nobody knows, you can always check the part numbers for a power setup versus a non power setup via the Mitsubishi caps/asa software. See the FAQ thread for download info.

Totally different pieces. The Gen I power window switch mounts in a different position. You'd have to get the door panels, too. The gearing for the window motor is lots lower than the crank windows...torque thing and all that engineering goo. You can retrofit the parts, but be aware that the crank window cars do not have any of the wiring for the PW, as the harnesses are different.
Cheers, maybe?

Wiring isn't a problem. Is the crank door inner skin drilled proporly to mount the power gear inside? I wasn't clear from your post...

Sorry, thinking about the layout in my head, along with finishing some lab paperwork.
If you remove the door panel on your manual window model, you'll see the 4 square holes up and diagonal from the window crank. The PW switch mounts in a different spot than the manual crank. You could modify the manual equipped door panel, covering the unused hole with a cool sticker or patch, but it's too close to be sightly. The power motor mounts in basically the same places as the manual regulator, one or three more screws - but no holes to drill.
I thought about changing my Raider over, I'm not afraid of wiring either. I relubed all the slider wheels, gears, and grooves a few weekends ago on the driver's side...like butter now!

Got it: The only issue is the pressboard door panel. I'll be modifying that anyway, so not an issue. The donor is from a 4 door, so it would have 2 (too?) many window switches anyway.

Is the SWB front door window the same as one from a LWB?

sadly no... I need to find a new switch before I can fix mine. Luckily I have a spare set of doors with manual crank windows.

The doors and their guts are the same. The SWB has only 2 switches in the group versus 4 for the LWB. You could wire up the extra positions for various intermittent things like singularity cannon, oil squirters, laser weapons, and missile firing circuits. Oh, and you have to say 'missile' like Sean Connery did in Hunt for Red October, cause it's just so cool.
