Roof rack are great! I love the one I built out of 1"DOM its mounted on the drip rails as well super sturdy and for anything you throw up there! I like the rack you have but like whats been said it uses the roof for support. Not to good for anything other than light stuff

Looks really good
I have been watching the local Pull-A-Part hoping to find one to cut down for some time now. Now that I see what it will really look like - I want one even more. I looked at your truck on cardomain and was surprised to see that somebody else calls their rig "Puddle Jumper"
You've got my rack and my "name" and potentially my color (My son has been trying to get me to paint "PJ" Tennessee Orange) I guess I will just ride around being in your shadow. That is if your shadow can stretch all the way to Tennessee

Well, that's down right weird Good luck finding one at the Pull-a-part. I looked for over a year and also CL and didn't find a thing. Ended up buying it from eBay. But before buying the whole setup, I did manage to buy the front airdam and basket, so now i have 2 of those If you find the bars, ping me about the rest as i have no idea what i'm going to do with them.

I like it. It shouldn't hurt mpg as much as a full on basket since you have the deflector on there.
Truck looks great in both pics... but I notice there are some holes on the rhs fender that haven't reached their "potential" yet... Is there something on its way to you...?

I'm getting the raider ready for paint, so I,m drilling all my holes first and then will send it to the shop. as you've seen, snorkel has been done, rear ladder done, roof rack is close to being done and then the only thing left to do is mounting my new mirrors.

I like it, certainly gives the Monty a different look. Didn't think about what's actually supporting a roof rack though, until some folks mentioned it in here. I just got a Yakima roof rack that clips to the gutter rails, with 48" cross bars, for $75 off Craig's List. Got it mounted tonight, and it looks pretty good, and it's on there good and tight. About the only thing I plan on carrying up there is a surfboard or two for my daughters, so it was well worth the $75. I also have one of those hitch mounted cargo carriers, and plan on bolting a plastic storage box to it so they can put wetsuits and other wet/sandy beach stuff inside of it, and will drill some drainage holes.
But I like your plan for that Xterra rack...

I have a Thule rack if someone wants it. No keys for the locks, but price is good. Looking for some "Conferr" branded gutter mounts (6) to go with my rack and match the light bar I have already.
