Thanks for the info! I would love to get a set of BFG's but I can't justify the expense right now. I've driven the monty under 5000 miles per year for the past 3 or 4 years, so a 40,000 mile tire would still give me 8 years or so of life. I think I'll probably go with one of the mid-priced brands, especially if I can find a buy 3 get 1 free deal. If they rub a little in the front at full articulation then I'll avoid full articulation for a while - at least until it's warm enough to crawl underneath and adjust the t-bars, since I have to wrench outside.
I had 33x10.5x15's BFG Muds on stock rims on my 1990 LS (now has 32x11.5x15's BFG AT's) Torsion bars moderately cranked- No issues with tire size. I also now have 1995 SR and it has 31x10.5x15's Dayton Timberline AT's- Don't know who makes them but appear to be nice AT tire. 33x10.5x15's make monteros look awesome- but are costly.
