Well i still got problems with my Sr starting when cold about 4 time turning the motor over does it and it really rough until you give it some gas. after that its fine start just fine also. I have changed the temp coolant sensor and this fall changed the IAC when i thought that what was wrong with my kicking going up hills ect. which turned out to be a vacuum hose off back of motor. the IAC is used so thinking of putting the original back on to see if that is the problem. then someone told me i should test the MAF sensor. Anyone have any other ideas or tips or tricks. Thanks.

seems like you're describing lack of fuel symptoms. could it be a leaky fuel injector, maybe some other fuel leak causing lack of fuel pressure? failing fuel cap?

well might be a fuel leak but don't see or smell fuel. fuel cap well that's stock so ya could be that. hose now that's for sure could be it. My fatherinlaw was helping me with the fuel filter replacement this fall when he was here from Maine to visit we could not stop it from cycling gas so he went to see if he could undo the line at the pump. just now remembered that. so will check it change the IAC and replace the cap as soon as i can . got a snow storm coming in tonight. will say it seemed to act up after the whole fuel fiter change thing or replacing the IAC on it. it runs awesome and starts up just fine ones its going. can go down to the store or anywhere and it starts up it needs to sit for along time like over night for it to act this way.

Four starting attempts to get the engine running in cold weather does not sound too serious. Since this happens after extended shut down I'm wondering if the fuel is draining back into the tank. If there is a check valve in the system then this check may be leaking and because you don't smell gas I'm not thinking a leak. Try turning the key to on (not start) for about 30 seconds first and see if it starts easier. If so then it'll be drain back. The check is probably in the pump.

Mine doesn't like to stay running from cold start, so I idle it higher with my foot then it warms up faster to stay idle, about a min or two does the trick. Temp now is about 20 at night it gets lower teens, and too lazy to adjust the screw to have it idle higher.

I know it sounds like i am crazy when i say it does not want to start when its cold outside when its winter. but anything below about 50 or 60 degrees it does this it seems. Thats why when some one told me temp coolant sensor in another post it made since to me. It has never had this problem before the 5 or 6 years its been the family. i will try the 30 second thing good idea. and will look into the check valve idea also thanks guys. like i said this all seemed to happen after changing the fuel filter and IAC . also there use to be alot of pressure behind the gas cap would hiss really good when taking it off now there is none

Have you tested to see if you have correct fuel pressure when starting? It sounds like your problem is in the fuel system somewhere - checking your pressure is going to be your first step in diagnosing it.
