My boys friend had a Miata with the rear LS and you could feel it engage if you gave it a little juice going around a corner, thats the one I want in my front dif but they seem to be spendy, I think it was the Torsen LSD. I have the extra dif for when I find one though. I was thinking about a Torsen diff at one point, but I read somewhere that a Torsen ends up acting just like an open diff if one wheel is off the ground, so that's not the best solution for off-roading. I've been eyeing that Kaiser locker lately. Seems to be an intriguing design, though a bit pricey.

Most limited slips do that, if they slip just tap on the break and they usualy lock up. The Ranger FX4 Level II had the Torsen and I've heard they work great in that. Anyway right now spendy is out of the question, any extra money goes to my 61 F100.

mine already has a limited slip diff- a factory fitted one- not that great. a read that detroit lockers also makes a 28 spline rear LSD. i am stil checking out the option of fitting spacers in the diff to make it lock up the wheels faster

The rear LSD made a huge difference in my Sporty. I used to just sit and spin one wheel on a slick corner when starting from a stop. Sometimes even if it was just wet. Now I'll fishtail if I'm not careful (or sometimes intentionally).

When the weather warms up a bit and my garage gets above 10 degrees I will get some pics of the spacers I put in my LSD before I install it, I got an invite from some guys at work to go to Moab with them in a few months, I want to have it in by then and I can tell you how it works. They have some realy nice built TJs, Rubicons, a few YJs and a realy nice Bronco so it should be real fun.

Dennis,
When you going? Send me a PM. I need to get down to Moab too and it would be fun to crash your party. Then there would be two white KIA Sportages showing those Jeeps how it's done again. Do you remember the first time we went the dorks in Jeeps with 33Æs that were having problems getting up Poison Spider? You just pulled up to the same obstacle and went right up and over without even spinning a single tire.
